The ancient capital of Mon Kingdom in 15th century is situated about 80 km from Yangon. Among the many places of cultural heritage include the huge Reclining Buddha of Mawdaaw Pagoda, Kalyani Sima (Ordination Hall) the four Giant Buddha images of Kyaikpun Pagoda and the excavation site and restoration work of Kanbawzathadi, the palace of king Bayinnaung are some of the places of interest.

Pyay

An archeological site of the ancient Pyu capital of 5th to 9th century, is an important commercial center for trade between the Ayeyarwaddy Delta, on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwaddy, but it is only about 6 hours drive from Yangon. There are many interesting sites in Pyay and around Pyay.

Mrauk U

An ancient capital of Rakhine (Arakan) in 15th century, just 50 miles away from Sittway which is the capital of Rakhine. Mrauk U is a town rich in ancient cultural heritages. Their shapes and designs are strange and invaluable from archeological view point.

Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda

The Kyaikhtiyo pagoda is one of the most ancient and celebrated of all pagodas in Myanmar, about 160 km from Yangon and 11 km of hiking from the base camp at Kyaikhto. The panoramic view, the vastness of this blue mountain range the sunset and sunrise are remarkable, moving, charming and romantic.
